When FBI brokers requested for permission to tear a whole lot of protected deposit containers from the partitions of a Beverly Hills enterprise and haul them away, U.S. Justice of the Peace Steve Kim set some strict limits on the raid.
The enterprise, U.S. Personal Vaults, had been charged in a sealed indictment with conspiring to promote medication and launder cash. Its clients had not.
So the FBI may seize the containers themselves, Kim determined, however needed to return what was inside to the homeowners.
“This warrant doesn’t authorize a legal search or seizure of the contents of the security deposit containers,” Kim’s March 17 seizure warrant declared.
